Dear Prayer Partners,
We’re praising the Lord for how He has provided for us this summer. In July, our six-month visa expired, and we had to travel to the United States to file paperwork to renew it. Upon returning to Mexico, we completed the process, securing a one-year visa that allows us to remain in the country. When that year is up, we can file for an extension to stay longer. We’re thankful for the work our lawyer has done to guide us through this process. God has truly blessed this entire process, and we encountered little to no issues with the government accepting our paperwork.
When we returned from the States, we had a few days to prepare for summer camp before leaving for a week of camp. Approximately 40 teenagers attended, and many made decisions for the Lord. While at camp, we led the game times for the teens and practiced a lot of Spanish.
The first week of August, we held VBS with the theme “Heroes of the Faith.” Josh ran the games, and Katye led craft time. We were blessed with about seven to nine children each day, plus some older siblings and parents. On the last day of VBS, one of the boys spoke with a lady from the church about learning more about salvation. Both of us are so thankful to see the Gospel go forth and the openness of the people here. As things returned to normal, we resumed Spanish classes with the goal of gradually becoming fluent enough to no longer need formal lessons. We continue to be busy in the ministry here, teaching children’s classes at church, helping with music and media, and visitation each week.
Praise:
• We received a one-year visa, allowing us to remain in the country with the option to extend it.
• God is blessing the ministries at church.
Prayer:
• That our language skills would continue to improve.
