Dear Prayer Partners,
We arrived back in Mexico in the middle of January after spending some time with family and working on trying to obtain our visas. Unfortunately, we did not receive our short-term residency visa in time for our flight back. We came back on a tourist visa while we continue to deal with getting the short-term visa. After getting back we hit the ground running with ministry and language classes.
February has also been busy; we celebrated the seventh anniversary of Iglesia Bautista Faro de Luz. A group of us were able to go out into the community and invite people to the celebration and saw many visitors come as a result. God has been blessing the church, and we’ve had several more visitors over the last few weeks. On the 22nd, the teens had a Valentine’s party; we were able to hear a message from Psalm 119, sing songs, and play games. It was a blessing to see the teens have God working in their lives.
Language classes have been going well; our teachers are happy with how far we’ve come. They are pushing and encouraging us to use what we’ve learned. This week we had a test over level 1A and part of 1B of the Spanish language, now we will be starting on new material. Both Josh and Katye have had the opportunity to read the Bible out loud at church and pray in Spanish.
Praise
– We’ve passed level 1A in Spanish
– The church has seen growth over the past month
Prayer
– We continue to deal with receiving our short-term residency visas
– We would continue to improve in our language training
