July/August 2024

Dear Prayer Partners,

As we get closer to moving to the field, we find many new challenges and
blessings.

In July, we had the opportunity to spend time in PA. This gave us some
time to start packing our belongings and attending some services at our
sending church. We also were able to help with our church’s Vacation Bible
School. Josh was a team leader and taught a teen class; Katye played
the piano for the group assemblies and game time for the teens.

In August, our schedule started picking up. On August 12th we packed up
everything we owned and drove it down to the TX border where it’s being
stored until we leave for Mexico in October. On this trip, we spent 68 hours
in the car over four very long days. We want to say a special thanks to our
assistant pastor and his wife for making the trip with us and doing most of
the driving. After getting back to PA we started saying goodbyes to our
sending church family and our PA family. We have six weeks of meetings
left in our deputation travels and will be saying goodbye to more family and
friends in between our scheduled meetings.

We would greatly appreciate some special prayers for our visa situation.
Mexico has recently changed the requirements for a short-term residency
visa. Unfortunately, we do not qualify for it and will be heading there on a
Tourist Visa. We will have 180 days to complete the requirements for the
short-term residency visa. Please pray we will meet the requirements by
the time our Tourist Visa ends.

Praise

  • We were able to take our belongings down to TX
  • We are close to 90% of our needed support

Prayer

  • Our Visa situation
  • Safety as we finish deputation and move to the field
